Welcome to The Sonbeams!
Our class's curriculum has monthly themes that include colors, shapes, stories, songs and rhymes. We will incorporate Bible stories, counting, alphabet, manners, sharing and taking turns into our lessons. Through this, we will learn about the world around us and people of the community, transportation and nature (plants, insects and animals).
We will also be planning "fun days" like toilet paper day, pajama day, movie day, making our own snack, dress silly day, etc.
We will be working on fine motor skills such as cutting with scissors, coloring, small manipulatives and toys, and practice writing. Large motor skills we will work on include playing, climbing, throwing, catching, kicking a ball, running and dancing.
Please be aware of our monthly calendars as this gives information on weekly themes, activities and special theme days planned in the class. The calendar is also helpful at home in preparing your child for class. Your child may be requested to bring or wear an item or color on a certain day.
