Welcome to the Infant Center, where you'll find Little Blessings, Cherubs, and Lions and Lambs!
Lions & Lambs
The majority of the day's activities will be free play. At this stage of development, children learn by doing. They enjoy a relaxed environment of free play and a wide variety of toys. Children are experiencing new found independence and will often choose to play by themselves or with a teacher. As the year goes on, they will start interacting with other children more.
In our class we expose the children to several fun and educational activities. These include: musical instruments, music and dancing, stories, puzzles, Playdough, blocks, Lego, cars, dolls and stuffed animals, balls, simple arts and crafts, indoor walks, and outside play as weather permits.
For many children, this is their first experience away from mom and dad. The beginning can be a little tough on both the children and parents. It really does not take long for the children to settle into the routine. We have learned that open communication is key in a smooth transition into daycare.
Our teachers will be using LifeCubby throughout the day to track your child’s daily activities. LifeCubby celebrates early learning, and connects life chapters for parents by giving them a free account that can be kept forever! Pictures and videos will be taken to share with you. You can also invite family and close friends to be “Cubby Pals” so they can see how your child is growing and thriving here at the Sonshine Center. With LifeCubby, you will be able to access your account online, as well as with the LifeCubby Parent App which you can download for free to your Apple or Android phone. The system is installed in each classroom so you can see the daily reports, activity documentation (including photos/videos), and assessments not only from your phone but also when you are in the classroom. Please go to www.LifeCubby.me for further information.
Please print a copy of our monthly calendars as this gives information on weekly themes, activities and special days planned in the class, as well as helping you to prepare your child for class.
