Welcome to The Sonshine Express!
We welcome you and your child to the four-year-old Pre-Kindergarten class! We are looking forward to a year filled with many new learning experiences for everyone.
Pre-Kindergarten sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 11:00 a.m. We will start with group time at 8:30 a.m., so it is very important that your child is in class by this time otherwise they will miss the most focused learning time of the entire day. Children arriving later than 7:45 a.m. need to have already eaten breakfast at home. Please remember that morning snack is just that — a snack; it should not be depended upon for breakfast.
Sonshine Express Daily Schedule (tentative):

| 8:30-9:00 | Group Time (This includes introduction of the letter/number of the week, Bible time and discussion of the theme of the week) |
| 9:00-9:20 | Snack |
| 9:20-10:00 | Center Time (This includes the art project, writing practice, manipulatives, role play and various "hands-on" activities) |
| 10:00-10:30 | Outside Time |
| 10:30-11:00 | Continuation of Centers |
| 11:00 | Dismissal of Pre-Kindergarten Children Only |
| 11:00-11:40 | Finish projects from center time, group activities with music, games and stories |
| 11:40-12:00 | Clean up and prepare for lunch |
| 12:00-12:30 | Lunch |
| 12:30–1:00 | Preparation for rest time |
| 1:00-2:40 | Rest Time |
| 2:40-2:50 | Put away beds, use bathroom, get drinks |
| 2:50-3:30 | Outside Time (weather permitting) |
| 3:30-4:00 | Snack |
| 4:00-4:30 | Continuation of morning Center Time activities |
| 4:00-6:00 | Free Play |
Please print a copy of our monthly calendars as this gives information on weekly themes, activities and special days planned in the class, as well as helping you to prepare your child for class.
